VERWOOD Town boss Adie Arnold has turned down the chance to manage Christchurch, describing it as “the right job at the wrong time.”
The 49-year-old was wanted by Priory to succeed Graham Kemp, who has left Hurn Bridge to manage Winchester City.
But, he has decided to stick with Verwood, having guided them from the old third tier of the Wessex League to the top flight in six years.
“It was one of the toughest decisions I have had to make in football,”
admitted Arnold.
“It was 50-50 at one point with my head telling me one thing and my heart another.
“But I have unfinished business at Verwood.
“I have a two-year plan to take Verwood to the next step, which is to become an established team in the Wessex Premier Division.”
Arnold added: “I have a lot of respect for Christchurch.
They are the one club I would have left Verwood for.
“It was just a case of the right job at the wrong time.”
