MIKEY Harris believes the appointment of Warren Feeney as player/assistant boss will bring “massive value” to Conference National new boys Salisbury City.

The 32-year-old former Northern Ireland international and AFC Bournemouth striker has moved to Salisbury as Harris’s right-hand man after spending the last two seasons with Plymouth Argyle in League Two.

Welcoming Belfast-born Feeney to the Raymond McEnhill Stadium, Harris said: “I have been working on a couple of deals for a week or so now and the crucial appointment was my number two.

“I am delighted to be able to bring a player of Warren’s calibre to the football club. It shows real ambition from the board.

“Warren is a big signing for the club.

“His experience and the fact he has got around 50 caps for his country brings massive value.

“He’s only 32 years old, so he’s still young and will be very useful on the pitch.

“He will benefit (ex-Saint striker) Jamie White and pass on his experiences to him.

“I have no doubt he will help the club develop as a whole, so it’s great to have him on board.”

Feeney has been followed into the Ray Mac by 24-year-old former Basingstoke, Peterborough, Crawley and Braintree striker Ben Wright who has been released from his Forest Green Rovers contract by mutual consent.
