DEPARTED Winchester City co-boss Danny Robinson has pitched up with a club closer to his Berkshire home.

The 28-year-old has joined the management team of Hellenic Premier outfit Newbury.

Robinson, along with Tim Cole, led Alresford Town to seven trophies in three years before joining Winchester in the summer.

But the pair quit just under a fortnight ago after differences of opinion with City’s director of football Dave Malone over player recruitment.

“I’ve been managing since I was 21 and this is my first job locally,” said Robinson. “I look at Newbury and see masses of potential.”
