SOUTHERN Premier promotion chasers Poole Town have lodged seven days’ notice of approach for the Moneyfields’ marksman Steve Hutchings.

Dolphins boss Tom Killick was in the crowd at Gang Warily on Saturday to see the Money men outgunned 2-1 by Blackfield & Langley in a Sydenhams Premier top-of-the-table clash.

Hutchings, 24, didn’t have his greatest game, but the Portsmouth-born former AFC Bournemouth and Havant & Waterlooville frontman has been a class act this season and currently tops the SWL scoring charts with 36 goals from 26 Wessex appearances.

Moneyfields' Steve Hutchings, right

Speaking after the game, Moneys assistant boss Graeme Gee confirmed: “Tom (Killick) put in a seven-dayer for Steve Hutchings last night. I don’t know if anything will come of it.

“We’ve never spoken to Steve about a contract. None of our players is on contract, so he’s free to go if he chooses to.

“We’d love to keep him but, if he did go, it would be with our best wishes.”
