TEAM Solent are top of the class in the Sydenhams Wessex Division One.
The Southampton Solent University side beat Hythe & Dibden 3-1 at Test Park to edge a point clear of Tadley Calleva at the summit.
It was their senior head, player- manager James Taylor, who set the seal on victory, nodding home Jesse Waller-Lassen’s 77th-minute cross.
Jim Orvis and Pip Nolan also scored for the Students either side of Nathan Renyard’s reply.
There was disappointment for Brockenhurst in the Premier Division as Newport IoW racked up an incredible fifth straight 1-0 league win. Jake Younie’s decider moved the Islanders up to sixth.
