BASINGSTOKE Town have given themselves a fighting chance of reaching the Conference South play-off final after drawing tonight’s semi-final first leg 1-1 at Whitehawk.

Ex-Eastleigh and Winchester City forward Chris Flood gave Stoke an 11th-minute lead which was wiped out by Jake Robinson early in the second half.

Fellow Hampshire club Havant & Waterlooville have it all to do in the other semi-final.

Lee Bradbury’s men lost the first leg 2-0 at home to league runners-up Boreham Wood.

Another ex-Eastleigh player Graeme Montgomery netted for Wood, joining Junior Morais on the scoresheet.

BROCKENHURST’S current manager Pat McManus got the better of his predecessor in tonight’s final game of the Sydenhams Premier Division season.

The Badgers turned over John Pyatt’s Lymington Town 4-1 at Grigg Lane.

Following first-half goals from Kabba Jack and Matt Vokes, Cassius Newton and Mark Barker doubled Brock’s advantage with a quick-fire double around the hour mark. Nick Magee netted Lymo’s 67th-minute reply.
