SYDENHAMS League new boys Portland United have welcomed a former Saint onto their management staff.
Kyle Critchell, who came through Southampton’s youth and reserve ranks between 2003 and 2006 and was a Wales under-21 international, has been appointed assistant/head coach to Gary Bailey at Grove Corner.
The 28-year-old succeeds Derek McKay, who has opted to step down from the role but will remain part of the Islanders’ set-up in Sydenhams One.
Defender/midfielder Critchell, who went on to play for Torquay (loan), Chesterfield, Weymouth and Dorchester, will also sign playing forms for Portland.
