THERE'S a cracking local tie in prospect if Winchester City win tomorrow’s FA Cup replay at Maidenhead United.

The prize for victory is an October 10 trip to Sydenhams Premier outfit Blackfield & Langley who pulled off a staggering 6-1 success at Wimborne Town on Saturday.

Winchester have a doubt over Saturday’s goalscorer Zach Glasspool who went off with a calf problem during the 1-1 draw with Maidenhead.

But even if he doesn’t make it, they still possess the firepower to trouble the National League South outfit who, having been reduced to ten men, bailed themselves out with an 89th-minute equaliser at the Denplan City Ground.

Dan Cann, alone, had four good chances after Glasspool’s exit and manager Paul Masters said after the game: “To be fair to Dan, we know his ability.

"He’d been unlucky in the last couple of weeks not to feature because we’d changed the way we played slightly and I think today was to stick two fingers up at me for not picking him!

“Dan’s a good player and someone we don’t want to lose.”

Asked if Cann was getting itchy feet, Masters said: “I think everyone does if they’re not playing. We’ve just got to manage the situation and keep everyone happy.”
