BROCKENHURST will host Wealdstone of the National League South in the FA Cup third qualifying round  on Saturday week (October 10).

The Stones won their replay 2-0 at Biggleswade Town tonight to book their passage to the New Forest.

Brock – currently 16th in the Sydenhams Premier Division – will start as clear underdogs against three leagues higher opposition.

But Pat McManus’s men have proved formidable on home soil so far with Southern League duo Yate Town and Mangotsfield United among their Cup victims.

Last Saturday Scott Joyce was the match-winning hero as the Badgers nudged past Sydenhams Premier rivals AFC Portchester on another jubilant afternoon at Grigg Lane.

Ex-Saint Matt Paterson struck twice for Havant & Waterlooville and had a penalty saved in a dramatic 4-2 FA Cup replay win over lower league Larkhall Athletic at Westleigh Park.

Hawks’ duo Dan Strugnell and Scott Donnelly were also on target against a Larks side who ended the match with eight men after having Dan Cleverley, Matt Thorne and Brad Norris red-carded.

The Hawks travel to the winners of tomorrow’s (Wednesday’s) replay between Horsham YMCA and Aveley on October 10.

Basingstoke Town will host Chelmsford City in the third qualifying round after the Clarets’ surprise 2-1 replay win at Ebbsfleet.

Poole Town were 2-1 winners at Bideford in the Southern Premier Division tonight thanks to Steve Devlin and Michael Walker. The Dolphins’ next FA Cup tie is away to Hastings United, 3-2 replay winners over Herne Bay.
