MANAGER Shane Traynor has confirmed he will return to the Hamworthy United hot seat – he just isn’t sure when.
Traynor announced he would be stepping down as Hammers boss before meeting with club officials prior to their 2-1 Dorset Senior Cup victory at Swanage Town & Herston ten days ago.
It was agreed that youth team boss Adrian Perry would take temporary charge of first-team affairs at the Sydenhams Premier Division club until Traynor was ready to return.
“I never wanted to walk away from the club and when I met with the committee they made it clear they would do everything they could to support me because they appreciated the job I had done,” said Traynor.
“The players held a meeting and said they wanted me to stay as well, so it was impossible to say ‘no’.
“Adrian has agreed to hold the fort until the time is right for me to step back in.
“The support from everyone has been fantastic.”
Traynor, a former AFC Bournemouth youth coach, has been in charge of the Hammers for ten months having taken over from Stewart Kearn at the turn of the calendar year.
