ALRESFORD Town's history-making FA Cup adventure continues.

The Magpies' first qualifying round debut brought success at the second attempt tonight as they overcame Fareham Town 4-2 in the Cams Alders replay following Saturday's 1-1 draw.

Richard Luffman's Alresford did it the hard way, twice falling behind to goals by Callum Laycock and Ash Tattersall.

Former Winchester City forward Geoff Dunn cancelled out the first one and it was from his parried shot that Liam Hall made it 2-2.

Dunn then teed up Mo Nyang to put the Magpies in front for the first time before Jamie Nash made the game safe.

Alresford's reward is a home tie against Cadbury Heath on Saturday week (September 17).

Weymouth are also through to the second qualifying round after seeing off Paulton Rovers 2-1.

Jason Matthews' Terras will entertain Gosport Borough who came back from behind for a 1-1 National League South draw with Hampton & Richmond Borough this evening - Dan Wooden levelling with a 71st-minute wonder strike.

But it was a tricky night for Poole Town's threadbare squad who succumbed 4-0 at St Albans City - their first defeat in eight league games.

Totton & Eling emerged handsome 4-1 winners at US Portsmouth in the Sydenhams Wessex Division One.

Joe Rawkins (2), Matt Brewer and Owen Fee scored for the merry Millers, who rise to tenth.

In the Hampshire FA Senior Cup, Andover Town triumphed 3-1 at Bournemouth Poppies with goals by Rudi Plummer, Lawrence Larbi and Shane Lock.

Andover now face a second round tie at Cowes Sports, who were clobbered 8-0 at Hamworthy United in the Sydenhams League Cup tonight.

Steve Smith and Steve Flynn each struck three Hammer blows, backed by one apiece from Connor Phillips and Matt Kemble.
