GLENN Burnett is back in football as manager of Andover Town.

The former Romsey Town boss is being assisted by ex-Winchester City striker Zach Glasspool - most recently a player with Sholing - at the helm of the Portway Stadium outfit.

Burnett, who had a spell as right-hand man to Paul Masters at Winchester City the season before last, got his Portway reign off to winning start on Tuesday.

Goals from Rudi Plummer (2) and Shane Lock earned Town a 3-1 victory at Bournemouth Poppies in the Hampshire FA Senior Cup.

John Robson, who had stepped up from assistant manager to replace Neil Benson during the summer, is staying on with the club.

Andover, currently fourth to bottom of the Sydenhams Premier, hosts league leaders Blackfield on Saturday.

Both Burnett and Robson previously managed the Watersiders, who have taken a maximum 18 points from six league games.
