HAMWORTHY United have appointed Brendon King as their new manager.

The former Weymouth boss replaces Carl Poore at the helm of the Sydenhams Premier Division club.

King, previously assistant manager to Simon Browne at Wimborne Town, will be in the dugout for the Hammers’ clash with Bournemouth Poppies at the County Ground tomorrow(Tuesday, 7.45), although caretaker Dan Pidgley will select the team.

*AFC BOURNEMOUTH youngster Charlie Kendall made his debut off the bench in Bashley’s 4-2 Sydenhams Premier defeat at home to Horndean.

Kendall, who has joined the Foresters on a work experience basis, showed fire and enthusiasm but it came too late to alter the course of the game.

Mark Smith gave the Deans a sixth-minute lead, following up after Bash keeper Joe Prodomo had brilliantly parried an initial shot.

With Jack Maloney causing havoc down the right flank, Horndean went in two up at the break through Nick Tayler, but Bashley’s determined start to the second half brought a quick response from Harvey Slade.

Two minutes later another great Prodomo parry fell conveniently at the feet of ex-Bash midfielder Connor Duffin to make it 3-1 to the Deans.

With the game flowing end-to-end, Hugh Dathan broke free to slot past a helpless Tom Price for 3-2, but the Foresters’ hopes were sunk when Smith claimed his second.

Bashley’s misery was compounded when sub Elliot Head was red-carded.

Bash, now tenth, are home again tomorrow (Tuesday, 7.30) to Cowes Sports.
