WINCHESTER City are on a roll.

The Citizens chalked up their third straight league win and their fourth in all competitions by edging Yate Town 1-0 at the Denplan City Ground this evening.

Craig Feeney had the best chance of the first half but fired wide one-on-one.

It remained goalless until the 80th minute when former Petersfield striker Howard Neighbour scored for the fourth game running.

Next up for City is a trip to Bideford on Saturday.

Winchester – last season’s beaten finalists – have been drawn away to Sholing in the quarter-finals of the Hampshire FA Senior Cup.

Quarter-final draw (to be played January 17): Hartley Wintney v AFC Totton, Gosport Borough v AFC Bournemouth, Sholing v Winchester City, Basingstoke Town v AFC Stoneham.

*Fourth-placed Christchurch went goal crazy in Sydenhams One, blitzing Pewsey Vale 11-1. Four-star Steve Rattue led the rampage, backed by Andy Masson (3), Andy Pope (2), Grant Cormack and youngster James King.

Hamble Club still top the Sydenhams One table but have lost their unbeaten home league record. An own goal sentenced the Monks to a 1-0 defeat to Ringwood Town on Tuesday.
