SHOLING’S friendly against Saints under-21s next Tuesday (July 10, 7.30pm) will be played at their newly-christened Silverlake Arena.
Although the Southern One South & West club continue to be based at the VT Sports Ground in Portsmouth Road, the football section has undergone a change of identity thanks to a three-year sponsorship from Southampton-based company Silverlake Automotive Recycling Ltd.
It means there will now be two non-League grounds in the area bearing the Silverlake title.
Conference South neighbours Eastleigh play at the Silverlake Stadium where Allen Prebble, managing director of Silverlake AR Ltd, has been involved since 2002 and is one of four Spitfires vice-chairmen. *Full story and more non-League in today's Daily Echo.
