Fans sign conditional agreement to buy Pompey

Fratton Park Fratton Park

Portsmouth's administrators have signed a conditional agreement to sell the League One club to the Pompey Supporters' Trust.

Trevor Birch, of administrators PKF, confirmed today they have signed an agreement with the PST which is subject to receiving permission to sell Fratton Park.

The move comes after the administrators withdrew preferred bidder status from Portpin, the largest creditor in the Portsmouth Football Club (2010) administration, more than three weeks ago and named PST as the preferred bidders.

''We can confirm that we have signed a sale agreement with the PST to acquire the business of Portsmouth Football Club,'' Birch said in a statement.

''Portpin has rejected the Trust's offer for Fratton Park, so the sale has to be conditional on receiving the Court's permission to sell the ground. We are therefore in the process of submitting an application to the Court.

''I'm sure every member of staff, every player and every supporter will join with me in wishing to see a speedy resolution of what has been a protracted administration.

''Everyone involved in the transaction has worked incredibly hard to get the deal to this stage and, although there is still much that needs to be done, today's announcement marks what is hopefully the beginning of the end of the process.''

How can a business that has almost £200m of un-paid debt be bought for a couple of £m's, with only a few pounds for various people, companies, the taxman and charities via a CVA.

The tiger (Chanrai) is wounded but now at his most dangerous.
Some silly skates think that all that needs to be done now is go to court, where a judge will order Chanrai to sell the ground at the price the PST have offered.
This will go on for a lot longer than the blue few think.

I was in favour of their attempt to buy their own club. However, the last few weeks has seen their fans try and mess our forum up, it is driving decent sensible posters away.

I hope this drags on and on. I hope Chainrai stiffs it out until the end with some brilliant delaying tactics. I hope Birch continues to run up massive administration bills. I hope the Few continue to in fight. And last but most certainly not least I hope they go out of business for good.

Yep, still in the Premiership, thats where we will be on Saturday, regardless of the result. So I congratulate you, you are correct, the Premiership IS where we belong, as you rightly say.

However you will be one league above where you rightly belong... But it won't last!!

Am I right in thinking the money obtained from selling the ground would then be passed on to Portpin, to clear his debenture?

Well, I hope the best bid the trust have received, for the ground, has been made by a company that has it's roots in Portpin.

Chanrai paying himself to go away, but actually tightening his grip on the scabby little club???

Now that WOULD make me laugh.

Main light at the end of the tunnel for me is the -10. Apart from that I couldn't give a t0ss what happens down there.

There will be appeal atfter appeal from whoever loses the first court battles over the shed they call a ground. Time is not on the club's side. My understanding is that the league would not allow them to play two consecutive seasons in administration.

So if no deal on the shed by August 2013, p*mpey goes pop.

Oh yes the fish fiddlers are known across the land for being the bestist supports in the land. What with the 7,000 or so who turn up at Farton Krap and the 100 or so who went to Bury recently and left at half time.

I believe they HAVE won more trophies but if you did some investigation you'll find that the 2 league titles were mainly due to the fact that they reaped the benefits of players from around the country being based in Fishville during the war. The most recent FA Cup win was purchased using daddy's credit card but then they couldn't be bothered paying the bill!

Anyway, the here and now should be the measure of the biggest club (whatever that is). If we use your logic then we could argue that Greece is the best country in the world and Liverpool the best football club. Now that's OBVIOUSLY right!

Holt better than Lambert = LOL

Sir Alan Knight - I believe that once the PST (Paedo's, Seniles and Trannies) Take over you will be losing 10 of your hard earned points so not quite onwards and upwards more like onwards and downwards. Enjoy your trip to Hartlepool I believe it will be a relegation 6 pointer much like our trip to QPR. When we went there first season I felt it really was a turning point for the club and a decent away win. If it's a midweek trip the town is kinda like a ghost town afterwards though

tip: dots not comma's.

£61m is what's being reported.
does that include PKF's pound of flesh?
It's been reported as £61m for a long time - is there no interest being charged?
Is the club making enough money to at least break even each month? (with those gate numbers I doubt it)

remember - media reports are always spun to make things look more positive than they are. (or negative if you are the DE talking about Saints)

All joking and slating aside - until your club is on a proper sound financial footing with a decent ground and an owner who has the financial grounding to make it work I would be really nervous.
PKF have no interest in resolving this quickly.
BC has voiced some really serious concerns that should not be ignored regarding the PST - ok he might be biased, but what he is saying should be ringing alarm bells
The PST are doing this on a wing and a prayer - you lot are in for a bumpy ride IF it works.

I know that the debt for the current administration is £61m, add this with the 2010 admin (£138m) and it comes out at a whopping £199m.
What is there to show for it?
A cup win, a couple of trips to Wembley and a game against AC Milan.
