Tim Pullinger scored in the last minute as Southampton University at last found the combination to a winning formula and opened the Bank of England vaults to secure their first Hampshire/Surrey Regional Division 2 success of the season.

They won 4-3 in plush Roehampton surroundings to move out of the relegation zone.

But redeeming their points voucher was far from straight forward – the Wessex students having to cancel out the Bank’s two-goal first half lead.

Josh Bishop and Pullinger scored either side of the break to even the scores, before Ash Sivarajah put the scholars ahead for the first time.

Bank of England made it 3-3, but the University weren’t to be denied – Pullinger converting a short corner to secure a 4-3 win.

Fareham’s promoted third team, the only side to beat Wimborne this term, remain bottom but after drawing 3-3 with London Academicals lie only two points behind Romsey and the Bank of England.

Fareham twice fell behind but levelled on each occasion through Peter Symonds College student Cam Duncan and fellow teen George Davey.

A Carl Perry penalty stroke gave Fareham hope of a second win, but the city visitors squared it up ten minutes from the end.
