Romsey’s Rich North continues with his career on the oche this weekend.
The new professional darts player is back in Wigan searching for more success in the next round of the UK Open qualifiers, which started yesterday and finishes on Sunday, writes CLIVE DOWNTON.
North tasted mixed success when he competed in the opening rounds a week ago.
He went out in the preliminary round on day one when he was beaten 6-5 by Austrian John Rodriguez.
But he put that defeat behind him to reach the last 16 on day two and pick up £1,500 in prize money, losing out 6-5 again but this time to former BDO world champion Jelle Klaasen.
North lost out in the second round on Sunday, beaten 6-4 by England’s Paul Harvey.
