Jacob Phrachai notched a hat-trick as Romsey U15s beat Andover’s John Hanson 4-2 after extra-time to reverse last season’s age group defeat in the Eastleigh & Winchester District Schools cup final.
John Hanson were 4-1 winners at Under-14 level last year, but two first half goals by Phrachai – the opener a first minute header – put Romsey in control.
Undeterred, John Hansen fought back, with Caleen Geary and Matthew Williams scoring to take the final into extra-time.
But Romsey found another gear, with Filip Fraczek-Krygier restoring their lead and Phrachai completing his hat-trick shortly before the final whistle to clinch a 4-2 win.
Westgate were quick off the mark against Mountbatten in the Year 10 Plate final – Rohan Sunar heading them in front within the opening 90 seconds.
Josh Bowerman doubled Westgate’s lead before Oli Smallbone added a third. Jack Darnton replied.
The Under-16 final wasn’t decided until the second half with Jack Mansbridge scoring twice to seal a 2-0 win for Mountbatten over Thornden.
