The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship delivered its usual high-octane blend of thrills, spills and fabulous family entertainment at Thruxton last weekend.

A record crowd lapped up the flat-out action, watching cars reach speeds of almost 160mph and seeing north Hampshire-based Rob Collard win one of the three races.

“What a wonderful weekend of racing we had,” enthused Thruxton Group Managing Director Bill Coombs.

“It’s always fantastic to host the BTCC, and it was great to see so many passionate and enthusiastic fans.

“It was also very gratifying to see that the first phase of safety improvements brought to Church Corner over the off-season are yielding the desired effect, with Daniel Lloyd thankfully walking away unscathed after leaving the track at high-speed during the second race on Sunday.

“Work on that front will continue next winter."

In the meantime, British Truck Racing is coming to Thruxton next month and the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at the beginning of August.
