Romsey’s Rich North won his fifth Southampton Darts Series contest on the bounce to equal a league record.

The only other player to achieve five wins in a row was Sam Head, who lost out in his sixth final.

PDC Professional North was back in fine form in the top quality competition at Bitterne Park Social Club as he aimed to equal Head’s achievement.

Mike Gillet also played well in the Autumn Grand Prix to earn his place in the last two, where he was beaten 4-1. North chalked up another half-a-dozen wins to match the record - he has won 116 legs over the last five weeks and dropped just 23.

Former bricklayer North beat Woolston’s Linton Hickman in the previous final where he threw a ten-dart leg and three 12-darters. Top finish that evening was Dan Davis’s 167 while North checked out on 161 and 141. Other finishes Aaron Gregory (122 & 100), Dan Rosher (122), Vandelow Page (121 & 110), Joe Bridle (121), Jack Seymour (119, 116 & 108).

Hythe & District Men’s League: All the ton-plus finishes came outside Division 1 this week - the best was a 120 for Malt & Hops player Wayne Dobbing. Sam Lloyd threw a 111 out-shot for Cue Ts, Stephen Stimson checked out on 109 for Jolly Sailor A and teammate Stuart Grieve finished on 100.

Romsey & District Men’s League: Bishop Blaize C have set the early pace in the new winter season with two wins from two.

Best recent finishes came from Bishop Blaize A and Comrades. Martin Colgrave’s 136 for Bishops was the highest check out and teammate Alex Dunleavey threw a 113 finish. Comrades’ Dave Morgan checked out on 132 and 109.

Bishop A’s Martin Colgrave threw a 15-dart leg in his side’s 8-1 win over Mottisfont B.

Freemantle, Shirley & District League: Mickey Noyce produced a 154 finish for Kings Arms as they just got the better of Rover in the Knock-out Plate at Swaythling Club.

Swaythling B player James Nicholson hit a 104 out-shot against Ice House at Gardeners (see results column).

Fareham & District Super League: Southampton Select remain top of the table but best recent stats came from Gosport players – Paul Winter threw a 29.91 single dart average, Leigh Chappel hit an 11-dart leg and Pete West checked out on 160, the top finish so far.

Portswood, Shirley & District League: Jason Dunn threw a 14-dart leg for Kings Arms as his side beat Wellington Arms 7-2 in recent league action. Micky Noyce hit a 16-darter for Saints as they beat Osborne 5-4.
