Golfers from across Hampshire will next week begin their quest to reach this year’s Open Championship.

Regional qualifying takes place on Monday, with a host of professional and amateur hopefuls from the county entered.

They will all be desperate to advance to next month’s final stage, where they could win a coveted place at Muirfield.

A total of 14 courses will host regional qualifying, with a handful from each progressing.

Players from Hampshire are spread across four of those clubs.

Those who are successful on Monday will then take part in local final qualifying on Tuesday, July 2.
