Experience won the day at Hampshire Golf Union’s Past, Present & Future Match at Hayling Golf Club.
In blustery conditions, the team of ‘past’ county players used all their foursomes experience to emerge victorious in the annual fixture.
The squad, which consisted of Steve Richardson, Alan Mew, Mark Thistleton, Jamie Pinchon, Steve Clapp, Andy Bow, Toby Burden and captain Richard Elmes, won five of their six matches.
The ‘present’ team of Martin Young, Ryan Henley, Mark Sawford, Ben Lobacz, Jon Young, Tom Robson, Mark Burgess and Haydn Reay won four matches.
The ‘future’ team of Sam Day, Charlie Manning, Scott Gregory, Ryan Harmer, Chris Blunden, Josh Oddy, Jordan Sundorg and Conor Richards won three.
The Hampshire men’s side takes on the colts squad at Hockley on March 16, as preparations continue for the 2014 county season.
