SOME of Saints' final day survival battlers face an anxious wait to discover if they will reap the rewards of Championship safety.
Saints have a whole host of players out of contract this summer, including three who started in the dramatic 3-2 win over Sheffield United on Sunday, and numerous others whose loan deals are ending and who will return to their parent clubs.
Contract talks have understandably had to take a back seat in recent weeks as the club waited to discover in which division they would find themselves next season.
Nigel Pearson has drawn up a list of those he would like to see offered extended deals but, with the leadership of the club still up in the air, even progressing with that this week could prove to be hard work.
Saints chairman Leon Crouch, who, if he stays at Saints, has backed Pearson to remain in charge is waiting to hear if investment talks will produce any results this week while the board looks set to change next week with Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde returning to the club.
