FORMER Winchester College student George Nash won Olympic bronze today along with Will Satch in the men’s rowing doubles on Eton Dorney Lake.

Nash and Satch only came together at the start of this season after Pete Reed and Andrew Triggs Hodge moved back to the four, having failed over two years to beat the dominant New Zealand pair of Eric Murray and Hamish Bond.

Earlier this year Nash, who was born in Surrey and who currently attends Cambridge University, finished second in a World Cup series event in Belgrade.

The Kiwis claimed gold in stunning fashion and France held on to win the silver by just half a second after holding off a desperate surge to the line from Nash and Satch.
