HAMPSHIRE sailor Sir Robin Know-Johnston is up to third place in the gruelling transatlantic Route Du Rhum race.
Taking part in the Rhum class, 75-year-old Know-Johnston last night manoeuvred his boat Grey Power into the last podium position as the race enters its crucial second half.
The fleet has now been at sea for 12 days and, although Anne Caseneuve looks to have the Rhum class wrapped up, the battle for the podium placings looks set to go to the wire as there is little between Wilfrid Clerton in second, Knox-Johnston in third and Jean-Paul Froc in fourth.
