IAN WALKER
HAMPSHIRE skipper Ian Walker claimed his second podium position in as many legs at the end of the second stage of the Volvo Ocean Race.
Walker’s Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing finished third, less than three hours behind leg winners Team Brunel at the Abu Dhabi finish line.
Walker, from Warsash, guided his team to victory in the opening leg from Alicante, Spain, to Cape Town.
All-woman Team SCA, skippered by Hampshire’s Sam Davies, are expected to reach Abu Dhabi tomorrow and lie sixth.
