SILENT films will again be screened at the Clayport Library in Durham.
The Explorations in Silent Cinema course this time will feature the silent films of Douglas Fairbanks Snr.
The star will be seen in his most famous epics, Robin Hood, The Thief of Baghdad, The Three Musketeers and the Technicolor adventure The Black Pirate.
He created the role of Zorro in two films and, in his early years, he made comedy films that rivalled those of Harold Lloyd.
George Hetherington will supply the live piano accompaniment for four of the films.
The ten-week free course begins at 7.30pm on Tuesday, with the comedy film The Matrimaniac.
The title of each week’s film is available in the Clayport Library.
The tutor is film historian Dr David Williams.
