Saints' trip to Reading picked for TV

Madejski Stadium Madejski Stadium

Saints’ trip to Reading in April has been selected for live television coverage, although the date of the match is still to be finalised.

The game is currently pencilled in for a 12.45pm kick-off on Saturday, April 6.

However, that could change, depending on the outcome of Manchester United’s last 16 Champions League encounter with Real Madrid.

As it stands, United are scheduled to host Manchester City on Monday, April 8.

But, if Sir Alex Ferguson’s men advance past Madrid, the Manchester derby will switch to Saturday lunchtime and Saints’ trip to the Madejski Stadium will be moved to the Monday night.

Whatever the case, both games will be live on Sky Sports.

12:45 kick off... ffs how do they expect you to drink 8 pints before lunch.
Hopefully you'll be able to have a few beers inside the Madjeski during the game.
still with the early ko, you will probably make the Standing Order by teatime.

I must say that for any third party supporters this is one dollop of TV they wont be at all worried about.

Does it mean more money for the club ?

back on topic
when we were in the little leagues our games were being moved all the time and I was not happy, I thought when we are in the prem no one will want to watch little old Saints, how wrong was I! we take the sky money so I guess we dont play at 3 O'clock on a Saturday anymore, we must be a big club now?

Perhaps you should wear some Reading glasses instead of beer goggles this time round?

1.45am ko down here in NZ.. Lol Monday shift would mean bacon egg and saints :)

The main thing is to level the heads and get the feet planted firmly on the ground. Saints have a game against a team who will turn up with tactics to counter a pressing team. We will have a mighty scrap with Reading not a push over.

Players returning from injury should mean plenty of impact on the field and on the bench.. mixing my metaphors in true footy fan style Jose and Vergard could complete the Royal Flush down the toilet for Readings queen high full house as our Ace Rickie King Artur and Jack (I sht when I like) Punch roll sevens on the craps.
