Dusan Tadic insists Saints should not be disappointed with the way they played against Swansea, despite suffering defeat.

Ronald Koeman’s side enjoyed 63 per cent of the possession against the Welsh club, while they had six shots on target compared to the visitors’ one.

Unfortunately for Saints, that sole effort from Swansea was decisive, as Jonjo Shelvey picked out the top corner from 25 yards out.

“It was really strange, because this was one of our best games – the way how we played, how we dominated the game, and it was really strange,” said Tadic.

“I was sure that we were going to take three points.

“We deserved much more, but I think this is a good way of playing and the results are going to come.”

Tadic added: “We have some chances and we should score a first-half goal, but the way of our playing was really good and we just need to keep doing like this.

“Yes, we are disappointed we lost points, but we are not disappointed with the way how we play.

“We just need to keep doing like that and if we play like this we are going to have more luck in next game.

“It’s frustration, but it’s a problem when you play bad and then you lose game.

“But when you play good and then you lose game you don’t feel better, but you know your way of playing was really good, and you dominate the opponent.

“They didn’t have nothing – just one shot.

“We had more chances and we had more ball and I think this was, for me, one of the best how we play, like a team and with the ball.”
