The Daily Echo brings you a round-up of the Southampton-related transfer rumours appearing in the media today...

Saints are likely to make a move for Burnley right-back Kieran Trippier if Nathaniel Clyne is sold, according to the Daily Mirror.

The paper says that Liverpool are set to come back in with an improved offer for Clyne, after having an initial £10m bid rejected earlier this summer.

The England international is said to be seen as the ideal replacement for the out-of-contract Glen Johnson.

Saints will apparently face competition for 24-year-old Trippier if they do attempt to sign the Clarets player, with Tottenham also claimed to be keen on him.

However, reports in Portugal over the weekend have continued to link Saints with Sporting right-back Cedric Soares.

Sports newspaper Record has claimed that a deal should be announced within the next few days, with an agreement close to being reached for the 23-year-old.
