Saints are ready to fine tune preparations for their prestige friendly against Feyenoord with a low key game against Dutch amateur side KVV Quick this evening.

Ronald Koeman could give some of his fringe players and youngsters a chance to shine tonight, as well as looking at one or two things ahead of the big game in Rotterdam on Thursday night.

A strong Saints side kicked off the Dutch tour with a 3-0 win over FC Groningen at the weekend, but they face a drop in opposition with Quick plying their trade in the second tier of amateur football in the Netherlands.

The game takes place at the Sportpark Vondersweijde, which has a capacity of 6,500.

It is a marked contrast to Thursday’s game where more than 40,000 fans are expected to fill De Kuip to watch Dutch giants Feyenoord face Ronald Koeman’s men.

The last time Quick won promotion was in 2010, with their last silverware coming in 1998 when they won the East District Cup. They also won the second amateur level title in 1977 and 1990, while they won the first amateur level title in 1964 and 1966.

The most high profile player to start their career at Quick is Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, who went on to make 19 appearances for the Netherlands and had a spell in England with Hull City.
