No player in the Saints side is as likely to get the crowd on their feet with a truly electrifying moment as Sadio Mane.

That searing pace, that fearless running at defenders, the ability to create goals, to score goals – it would seem Mane has it all.

When he is on song he is almost unplayable.

Daily Echo:

There are a few big name Premier League defenders who have had sleepless nights after being skinned by Mane.

They don’t know whether to get tight and risk being turned, never to catch up, or to drop off and give him space with the knowledge he might come charging at them from deep.

The word enigmatic could have been created for Mane.

As is the way with those type of players, everything happens so quickly at the pace they operate it can be hard to keep up.

And so with Mane it is often either sheer brilliance, and a moment of pure quality, or one of frustration where it all fizzles out with a poor decision at the final moment.

Daily Echo:

With nine league goals and six assists, there is no doubting his contribution.

His hat-trick against Manchester City was another special day for a very special player, and only strengthened his hand to win votes to become the first African winner of the Player of the Season award.

Whatever you might say about Mane, he is undoubtedly box office.
