FORMER Saints coach Sammy Lee is staying with England.
Lee was brought back into the senior international fold when his former Bolton colleague Sam Allardyce was appointed in July.
Lee had left Saints a few weeks earlier following the arrival of Claude Puel.
Now Allardyce is no more, caretaker manager Gareth Southgate has said he will retain Lee and Martyn Margetson on his England coaching staff, with his under-21 assistant Steve Holland joining the senior staff.
Margetson was only recently appointed goalkeeping coach, replacing Saints' Dave Watson.
There has been no final decision on Leicester assistant Craig Shakespeare, who agreed a part-time role that saw him split his time between club and country, but the elevation of Holland suggests he could be moved out.
Holland has also been performing a dual role, acting as first-team coach at Chelsea as well as being Southgate's right-hand man with the Young Lions.
The Football Association had already paved the way for Holland's promotion by moving Aidy Boothroyd up from England Under-20s to England Under-21s, with ex-Saint Paul Williams taking over the younger group.
