LAWRIE McMenemy has paid tribute to former England manager Graham Taylor, who has passed away at the age of 72.
McMenemy, who was assistant to England boss Taylor from 1990-93, said: "This has come as a great shock to me and my family and I'm sure it will be to many in football.
"Graham was a very good manager but also a very good family man who will be sorely missed.
"He was one of the most unlucky England managers ever and I'll always be grateful to him for giving me a role alongside him.
"His record as a club manager was excellent with Watford and Aston Villa.
"I remember being at Wembley when he took Watford to the FA cup final in 1984 and he has a stand named after him at Vicarage Road.
"My deepest condolences to his family."
