CLAUDE Puel is sweating on the fitness of several of his Saints stars ahead of Saturday's match against West Brom.

In-form striker Manolo Gabbiadini remains a doubt with a groin problem, while Steven Davis, Ryan Bertrand and Sofiane Boufal may also miss the trip to The Hawthorns through injury.

Captain Davis injured his ankle in last night's win over Crystal Palace, while Bertrand was sidelined for the 3-1 triumph with a hamstring issue along with Boufal, who was missing due to a muscle problem he picked up in training.

Additionally, Saints are without defensive midfielder Oriol Romeu at West Brom - and the following game against Manchester City, due to suspension.

"Romeu is suspended and we will see with Davis if he can play with his ankle injury yesterday," Puel said.

"I don’t know if Gabbiadini can participate with the squad for this game, but we will see this soon.

"It’s difficult to prepare this game, but the result against Palace can give us a good confidence.”

On Gabbiadini, who has scored six goals in five appearances for Saints since his £14.6m arrival in January, Puel added: "I don’t know yet, I cannot speak with the doctor for the moment.

"We will see with the training session with Gabbiadini, Bertrand, Davis, Boufal – all these player I don’t know for the moment."
