You have probably been hankering to know what former Saints striker Brett Ormerod is up to these days.

Well here's your answer.

The former Saints man will open Southport’s first 24-hour gym next month.

Alongside some work in the media, the one time striker, who retired in January 2016 after also playing for Blackpool, Preston North End and Wrexham among others, will open the franchise on Merseyside with wife Lisa.

Ormerod, who played for Saints between 2001 and 2006, scoring 19 goals in 116 games, said: “I finished football a couple of years ago and I didn’t really want to go into coaching.

“All my mates doing their badges but there aren’t many jobs unless you know someone so I fancied doing something different.

“We’re not the low budget gym but we’re also not the David Lloyd top end, we’re in the middle.

“We’ve got top facilities though and the equipment we’ve got is the best available."

Nice one, Brett!
