JAN Poortvliet has backed his side to end their goal drought and gain “revenge” against Coventry at St Mary’s tonight.

It is less than a month ago that Saints were beaten 4-1 by the Sky Blues at the Ricoh Arena in front of the Sky TV cameras.

Since then Saints have picked up one point from three games and failed to score – something Poortvliet and his side have been working on ahead of tonight.

Poortvliet speaks to the Echo about tonight's game

He said: “It is a question of course of confidence to be in the box.

“You saw on Sunday in the game between Liverpool and Chelsea the power in the box.

“Sometimes they have five or six players in the box to try and score a goal and we have to do it or we will have problems.

“Liverpool and Chelsea also don’t play with two centre forwards, they play with three or people coming on.

“When you play with one centre forward it means the man in the hole has to be there or the man outside has to be there and we work on that otherwise it will be difficult to score."
