ADAM Lallana believes he has a fight on his hands to regain his place in Saints’ side, after the stunning 3-2 comeback win at Preston.
The 20-year-old, who has arguably been the player of the season so far, missed the dramatic victory at Deepdale with an injured ankle.
It was the first time Saints had been without their young star this campaign.
Lallana will return to training tomorrow and expects to be fit for Saturday’s clash with Bristol City at St Mary’s.
But, after Saints fought back from 2-0 down at half-time to win against Preston, he does not know if he will make it back into head coach Jan Poortvliet’s starting line-up.
“I will be training back on Wednesday, so hopefully I’ll be fit, but I might not even get in the team now with the boys doing so well at the weekend,” Lallana told the Daily Echo.
