Andrew Surman is urging his side to take the positives out of their home draw with Sheffield Wednesday.
The Saints midfielder admitted that after his side had convincingly bossed the first half to come away from another home game with one point instead of three was a blow.
But with Saints travelling to take on Crystal Palace tonight he insists his teammates must take the good things from the Wednesday match.
He said: “It is a difficult one to take but you’ve got to look at the positives, we’re four games unbeaten now and that’s what we need to push up the table.
“It should have been three points so we’re all disappointed in the changing room and I’m sure that the fans are as well.
“It was looking a bit more promising we just need to learn how to kill teams off a bit and to take our chances when we get them.
“We should have been maybe three up and out of sight by the time that they scored.”
