JASON Euell has become the sixth high profile player to leave Saints since the end of last season.

The £10,000 a week midfielder, pictured, was out of contract at the club and joined Championship club Blackpool on a free transfer.

Though Euell was a free agent, he was still training with Saints at Staplewood until the end of last week.

The Daily Echo revealed earlier in the year that in addition to his weekly wage Euell was also given £400,000 as a signing on fee – paid in two equal instalments over the two years of his contract after arriving from Middlesbrough in August 2007.

As he played in 65 league and cup games for Saints – 13 of which were as a sub – he cost the club around £22,000 for each of his appearances based on an annual wage of £720,000 per year.
