His head was turned during pre-season and when we blocked his move to a championship club. Remember Beattie when he wanted to leave? - awful. Look at Beckford from January on last season for Leeds (when he wanted to be sold) - woeful. I don't think we'll ever see any kind of form from him again unfortunately. It's an absolute crying shame as i loved watching him last year but i don't think his heart is in this club any more. I think he'll leave in January and we'll need to re-invest what we make from him.
Whether this is actually true or not is anyones guess but judging by his performances you do wander, against Brentford i thought he was shocking and his lack of movement along with goolie made it easy for Brentford to snuff us out. Also Costa Baz pointed out that we could do with a few more battlers on the pitch and a new captain i have to agree with him about the need for some toughguys ,but i think Hammond is a decent enough player and skipper at this level with someone like Chaplow making those surging runs of his and Deano can get on with protecting the defence.Schneiderlin is the problem for me,i really hate criticising our players but he`s totally not suited for this league and his contribution in the 3 years he`s been here has been minimal.I new bustling all action midfielder please,1 big strong mobile centre forward to complement Barnard, and a pacy winger to give Alex some competition.
    This is spot on:
    We need:
    1) A strong mobile striker to compete with lambert or replace him if he goes. Austin?
    2) A quality winger - doesnt have to be pacey - Pilkington of Huddersfield would be quality. Pugh of Bmouth has 9 goals from the wing?
    3) The best attacking central midfielder in the league we need to sign up - who is he? I dont know! Bet we need him.
    4) Sign Chaplow.

Let go - Connelly, Spiderman, Pulis, wotton, holmes, Puncheon.

In the summer we sorted out the defence we now need offensive players and at least 3. Who can really get us buzzing and exciting players who look like they can do damage in the second half of this season.

    Its gonna take 2-3m investment.
agree with your 4 points. Wouldn't get rid of Holmes though, we all know he's a good player. Just slightly injury prone..."

LEE Barnard’s fitness should be among the silver linings after Saints suffered the disappointment of a second successive away League One game being postponed due to the big freeze.

A pitch inspection yesterday morning revealed the pitch at Walsall’s Banks’s Stadium was frozen and, with no realistic chance of it thawing, the game was given the axe early. It is now scheduled for March 1.

Saints’ game at Hartlepool earlier this month was postponed in the same way. But at least it gives key striker Barnard extra chance to get fit in time for Saints’ Boxing Day trip to Charlton. Full story in today's Daily Echo
