FORMER Saints star James Beattie believes a real “vibe” has been generated in the city of Southampton again – and it’s all down to Saints.

The forward, who scored 76 goals in 233 appearances for Saints before leaving for Everton in January 2005, still feels a great affinity to the club and is convinced current boss Nigel Adkins is the man to lead them to back-to-back promotions.

“They’re on fire at the moment and they can do no wrong,” said Beattie, pictured.

“I think the current manager, Nigel Adkins, has done a great job.”
