Tadanari Lee completes Saints move
2:12pm Wednesday 25th January 2012 in Saints News
Tadanari Lee
TADANARI Lee has completed his transfer to Saints, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club.
The Japan international striker flew into Heathrow yesterday ahead of finalising his switch from Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
Saints have said he has joined from the J.League top-flight side on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old will be available for Saturday's FA Cup fourth round trip to Millwall.

Finally, I believe the Cardiff game on Tuesday is our biggest game of the season so far, not just for the importance of a win but also the chance for the crowd to get behind the team, no matter how badly they may be playing. We can't just be 'only singing when we're winning', we've got to get behind the team no matter what if we're to help them when confidence is lower. Boos, moans, complaints will not make players play better.

Whatever I have previously thought or posted - I do think getting JP into the mix is now the right thing to do.
JP would have been strong and incisive against Leicester (where we seemed lightweight as a Team)
When JP is motivated he can hit the back of the net - (I am also trying to forget all his shots when he couldn't hit a barn door)
I also agree that Cardiff is a massive game for lots of reasons.
Starting early in the pub - (although midweek) this is the match for the fans to be noisy and have their voices heard
Whereas Chelsea have a current reputation for racism and Cardiff have a fair few "nutters " ........
Let's as a fan base have the pride and passion as Supporters of Southampton FC.
Let us make a difference on Tuesday - you can be sure that Cardiff will be packing the supporters in to the ground scenting blood and going for the kill.
Now is the time to Fight.
This is the game to WIN at home and make our intention known that we are going up.
RED ARMY. (Strike-Fight-WIN)
NO SURRENDER.
TO THE PREMIERSHIP AND EUROPEAN FOOTBALL.

NA has said the injured are returning and that he has goal scorers.
Also if we were to sign more players
we would need to sell/loan current
players otherwise the squad would
be over the size limit.
With JP back in favour this makes new signings even more unlikely IMO.
If I am right I do not agree as we
certainly need to buy another forward
and at least get a loan CB to replace
Jos who could be out for sometime as
hamstrings can be slow to heal.

And I can't remember any posts pre-season about us being top at Christmas, so any prediction from you armchair managers is about as worthless as most of your comments.

We will rue this window at the end of the season as a wonderful opportunity has been squandered.
But at least we can look forward to the sychophants chirping on about how we have another 2 years in our five year plan. Have a look at Forest. That's what can happen when you rely on free transfers and dross foreign nobodys

The other day there were negative comments about this transfer having gone quiet, now he's here, still no happiness.
Plus, JP is back in the fold. So, that should keep one or two quiet as well.
How about a bit of support for your team? I really hope of course that we go up automatically & I can shove your "play offs at best" down your moaning gob.

I'm Southampton born & bred, saw my first game in '76, & went to virtually every home gain from 1981 to 2010, plus loads of away games.
It is hard being so far away from the action, but I get up in the middle of the night for EVERY game & listen via the Saints Player or watch via a dodgy internet connection.
I still have a season ticket, & I am currently in the process of getting a job back in the UK to be re-united with friends & family & to see my Saints again.
I don't think you can claim to be more of a fan than anyone else because you know nothing about me.
Our current set up is planning a long term future, commercially & financially viable & I will support them as long as they continue to run us sensibly & not commit to the mad spending of some that will see financial oblivion (just look at Darlington & Poopee!).
So that's how I support - is that enough for you???

Right, tongue in cheek rant over, now the reality. Neither you nor I are better or worse fans than the next person. We're both entitled to our opinion and we don't have to agree with each other. However, what gets me is when people ONLY come on here when there's a reason to be negative. If you'd posted last year saying how great it was to be top at the end of October, then fair enough. I just don't get how people feel it's balanced to stay quiet during the good times but throw a strop when things are tough.
That aside, I'm sure we'll find we can agree on most other things.

Does that count :)
We all want promotion. The trouble is that some of us don't want it by spending money that isn't there. It doesn't matter how much would be made available by Markus Leibherr's estate, if there isn't enough income to ensure the books balance, we'll be lose making. Look around the football world. What's happening? Football is being killed because more money is seeping out than coming in. I don't want to be part of that.
Speculating is fine, but within limits. The last time Saints threw money at promotion, we lost in the play-offs to Derby and the club went belly up. Those of us content with the present rate of progress haven't forgotten that.

That's not being negative that's my honest opinion. if we don't get promotion this season I think there will be a lot of unhappy fans who will want answers.

I hope some money will be spent before the 31st, but I doubt it. I worry, like Hobson 82 that foreign imports, although they will turn out to be good players, will not adjust quickly enough
to the Championship or domestic life in the U.K. Better to bring in those players in the early summer and give them time to settle.
My preference would have been English signings. Lets hope the Tadanari Lee fits in quickly and gives us the pace up the front to take the pressure off of our mid field. For me it doesn't matter too much if he is not a prolific goal scorer, it's his pace that counts and the influence he will have on pushing back the oppositions' back four to give us the space to play and control the football, as Nigel would say.

Failing that as long as our injured players are all about to come back i think we will have enough bodies to cope.

In fact I believe that news about T Lee should be headline rather than all this rapprochement with Puncheon. But as the Echo are still not on the inside at St Mary's then they have to make their own headlines.
T Lee and Ricki are going to bring goals goals goals!!
