  • "I feel a big win coming on today!!! I hope Billy Boy finds his scoring touch ( if selected). IMO the jury is still out on Mr Sharp. I spoke to my mate who is a Sheff Utd fan, and said that when they signed him he couldn't hit a barn door. He seemed to suffer from Bigger club syndrome! Let's hope that's not the case with us. I think a couple of goals will settle his nerves? My disappointment on wakin up this morning was that the skates didn't get deducted 20 points!!! I think back to the days of Luton, Bmth!!!"

Clough hoping for a St Mary's result

DERBY boss Nigel Clough insists his stuttering Rams side have a “glimmer” of hope at St Mary’s today.

County are winless in their last four Championship games and are up against a Saints team that boast the best home record in the division.

Yet Clough believes the result is not a foregone conclusion.

The Rams manager points to recent away wins from Bristol City and Leicester at St Mary’s, as well as Millwall’s FA Cup success there this month, as reason for hope.

“They got off to such a fantastic start that it’s allowed them to have a couple of off games,” said Clough.

“They’ve lost their incredible unbeaten home run as well in that time.

“That wasn’t going to keep going on and on and on.

“So that gives us a little bit of a glimmer as well, that other teams have been there recently and won.”

While Saints’ home form has undoubtedly dipped in the last two months, they are also coming off the back of an impressive 2-0 win over Burnley at St Mary’s last weekend.
