Saints have been drawn away to Stevenage in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

Nigel Adkins' men will travel to the League One side in the week beginning August 27.

With the lack of signings i'm just pleased that this gives us the chance of winning a game.

Something is not right when NA says that he is "hopeful" of more signings, I think we are in for a large footballing lesson on Sunday and it's a shame, last season we had a flyer and our momentum carried us through some rocky moments, this season the fixture computer I think will stall our momentum straight away.

We so need signings.

still need 10 new signings! with the current squad we arent going to win to many and thats why i agree with shaun this may actually give us a chance of winning but i think we may struggle on their poor surface small ground and tight pitch teams like bristol city who play simlarly have a great record against us and anythingcan happen in a cup tie so i thinkthis is very tough however what i dont understand is we are supposed to be so rich yet the money is not going on players? we havent signed anyone for nearly a month now our current squad isnt as good as wolves squad last season and they came bottom so what hope does that give us! where is the money? where are the players!

I thought the battering took at the hands of Udinee was actually a good thing because it would shake them up into making a mass number of signings but clearly not so far they cant be saving them all for the end and weve never traditionally been a deadine day club

You can't argue with the club's record over the last few years, but I am seriously worried about the lack of signings especially in defence and a "general" in midfield. We can't just go gung-ho with good attackers without the lines behind being able to back it up when we lose possession.
Once again, seriously concerned and hope I get proven wrong over the next few days.

I don't know where all this grumpiness comes from. Adkins says we are going to win the EPL and he has been wrong about very little so far!? So chin up!
Man City aren't very good, Saints have beaten them loads of times. They may have won the league last year, but that was a fluke, they've hardly ever won it before and besides they didn't have to play Saints.

Lets have some positive waves, man.

Bloody hell what a load of miserable gits there are on here, no one expected Saints to get promoted last season but they did and yes we may not win against teams like Utd and City but if teams like Wigan, Norwich, Swansea etc. can survive and do well so why can Saints. I off now before all you doom and gloomers get me all depressed!!

oh dear oh dear.

Ok so the start of the season isn't exactly going to be easy. Personally I think thats a good thing - lets go in at the deep end and give it a **** good go.
Don't forget that while the start isn't good, the end of the season is against teams that we are likely to beat.
No point crying about the perceived lack of signings - we go with what we've got and we make the best of it. In a way not spending a massive amount of money is the right thing to do because then we'll be in a better position next season to spend if we have to.
