THE Sky Sports warm-up man at last week’s Premier League Snooker at Southampton Guildhall was, for once, lost for words.

John McDonald whips the crowd into a frenzy for 20 minutes before the action is beamed live around the world.

He picked on five-year-old Bowen Zhu, who was sat on his mum Karen’s knee.

“Do you play snooker?” he enquired.

“I’m in Division 3,” replied Bowen, proudly.

“You’re in a division, already!”

Of course, we know that Bowen - who celebrated his sixth birthday yesterday - is actually top of Division 3 in the Eastleigh & District Under-13 League. And his highest break on full-sized tables is a magnificent nine.

Then John called Bowen, who attends Knightwood Primary School in Chandler’s Ford, to the front and asked him his full name – which led to more confusion.

He then offered Bowen the chance to walk down the steps to thunderous applause as a rehearsal for when the professionals appear.

Bowen politely declined and returned to his mum’s lap.
