AS the grandfather of two children who are victims of the Family Courts, I voted in 2010 based on issues close to my heart.

When Caroline Nokes, made a personal commitment to reform family law, I voted for her.

Once elected, despite her party reneging on those promises, Ms Nokes assured us she continued to support those commitments.

Then there is her refusal to state where she stands on issues such as Whitenap and Tesco, for which she has historical responsibility through her role as a councillor.

When asked where she stood on Tesco Ms Nokes replied: “You hardly expect me to say”. Well actually Ms Nokes I do.

There is the Parliamentary Forces Scheme of which Ms Nokes is a member.

The scheme has such a bad reputation within the Armed Forces that a 25,000- signature petition has been handed in against them.

And then Ms Nokes was appointed to the Children and Families Bill Committee. A Committee working to protect children. So why did Ms Nokes so stubbornly support the head teacher of a school that was found to have failed in the most basic of child protection procedures?

Other broken promises include publishing her audited expenses regularly, something she has failed to do.

Now we have seen Ms Nokes take the abuse of power to an all-time low by calling in Special Branch to deal with constituents who challenge her policies (Fathers face Twitter ban over ‘MP abuse’, Daily Echo, May 2).

Ms Nokes has also reported to Twitter any constituents who challenge her online, claiming it is harassment and calling for Twitter to close their accounts.

Since when has challenging an MP over their promises become harassment?

MR I TAYLOR, Romsey.
