IN repsonse to Dane Cloustan’s view point (Letters, July 8) – no, Mr Cloustan, it is not right wing to want to leave the EU, rather insane. And you claim to be a member of a Liberal Party.

UKIP is not right to want to leave the EU, it is just plain madness.

I am sure that the UK would always have the right to disagree with the EU when it wishes. It is still a democratic union. The UK mustn’t be a sore sport, it must just argue back when it is displeased. But to up and leave is not rational. Imagine countries on the mainland Europe all leaving the EU because of some displeasure.

We are all the same people, we Europeans. What makes us so different? Human beings are really on the whole quite the same. If there be any differences, they are only for the good, thus forming a well-rounded society in this part of the world. We are rich namely because of these differences. Let us all be reasonable.

We all need each other in this huge family of nations. Let us not quibble with small items. Let's change anything we don't like, but let's not run away and sulk! I lived in Germany for many years and my German friends loved (and love) the U.K. Their homes were (and are) always open to British people. And the Germans are 150 per cent democratic.

They will never deny the UK arguing with them, but they do hate bickering. Let’s stop all this small-talk and work towards a wellestablished United Europe. All those Europeans over there could not be wronging the U.K. Quite the opposite - they want you to be a part of the family. I believe this firmly and dread to think what would happen in the UK, were certain groups to alienate the people of the UK from Europe.
