Let me just say well done to Southampton City Council, who run City Care.

City Care is an organisation that looks after people who have just come out of hospital and need help.

Most of the clients are over 60. They might have had a hip replacement or a minor operation or perhaps be recovering from cancer.

The great thing about the service is that the client can have up to four visits per day. So the client might need help with personal care in the mornings and then help with their lunch or tea, also evening calls are arranged where appropriate.

They also have night-time staff to help clients who are very ill. So with all this doom and gloom being printed in the papers, let’s say well done to our local council for doing a great job.
